We vacated the house as per the agreement and were told that we would be refunded the security deposit of 1 lakh deducting 1.5 months of rent towards painting charges and if there are any other damages in the house. Today we got an email in which they had mentioned the charges for painting, cleaning the house, replacing taps, lights, bulbs, etc. The total amount of all this was around Rs. 84000 and we would be refunded back only Rs. 16,000. The rent for this house was Rs. 24,000 so the 1.5 months painting charges would be Rs. 36,000 so we should have been refunded back Rs. 64000 and not Rs. 16,000. The rest of the Rs. 48,000 has been adjusted in all the other items which have been replaced as completely new and are priced as absurdly high. This is pure harassment as the damages cannot be so high. We were living there as civilised people and were using the facilities as normal human beings so a little wear and tear will happen but to charge such an absurdly high amount is completely ridiculous. We would request you to please look into this and help us get our money back.
